What is the difference of reverse osmosis and distilled water?

Reverse osmosis (RO) water and distilled water are both treated water sources that have gone through a process to remove impurities, but they differ in how they achieve this. Distilled water is created by boiling water and capturing the steam that is produced, which is then cooled and condensed back into a liquid form. This process leaves behind any impurities in the original water, resulting in pure, distilled water. Reverse osmosis water, on the other hand, is produced by forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane, which removes impurities as the water passes through. The impurities are left behind in the reject stream and the purified water is collected. While both distilled water and reverse osmosis water are considered to be pure, reverse osmosis water is often considered to be of higher quality due to its ability to remove a wider range of impurities, including dissolved salts, minerals, and organic compounds.
